Education is shaping according to talent and need

One day a baby is born. It grows and develops. First it learns to walk, learns to speak, starts eating on its own. He plays games, makes friends and one day finds himself in an institution where he will spend at least 12 years of his life.

Today, a person starts his/her education at the age of 6 at the latest, when he/she is a small child. They learn to hold a pencil, then they learn to write with that pencil, they begin to express their thoughts and get to know completely different worlds. We treat all these children equally and give them equal attention.

Although this generalized approach works for the majority, some children are unable to hold on to the roots of this system. As the tree of education grows, these children who cannot hold on to it in time turn yellow and fall off prematurely, before they can touch the sun like the rest of their friends.

Children are blank canvases on which we can design our future. What we give them today, we get back tomorrow. If we can move forward without losing any child, without ignoring their dreams, we can strengthen the future of our country.

Did one of our children not learn to read easily? We don’t blame him, we don’t compare him to his friends and make him feel inadequate. We try to get to the root of the problem, we try to understand why he cannot read. Does he dislike it, is something in the way, is someone making fun of him? We will understand the child, then we will help him/her and integrate him/her into society.

Another child does not like math but is very talented in music? Then we will direct him/her to music. Not everyone has to like math and be the best at it. Putting this child in the same category with his/her friends and forcing him/her to solve math will alienate him/her. Not only math, but also school, education, friends and family. If this child understands the language of notes, speaks melodies and can create a world for himself with melodies, we can make the best use of him in the field of music. If one day the whole world is going to give a standing ovation to a young Turkish boy at a concert, it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t know the multiplication tables by heart.

In short, each child is a different sapling, all of them will bloom their most beautiful flowers under the right conditions. The important thing is to understand in which soil they will flourish, how much they need water and sunshine, and to approach each of them in the necessary way. In this way, in the future, wherever we turn our heads, we will be able to see these small saplings that we have laid a solid foundation for growing into huge plane trees, and we will be able to sit back knowing that the future is in good hands.
