Nationalist Movement Party Mersin MP, Dr. Levent Uysal, issued a written statement in celebration of the 19 May Commemoration of Atat\u00fcrk, Youth, and Sports Day.<\/p>\n
In his statement, MP Uysal shared the following:<\/p>\n
\u201cOn 19 May 1919, with the thought of \u2018Independence or Death,\u2019 a sacred struggle for the peace and tranquility of our country began in Samsun and ended in victory. After this holy process, which is considered the beginning of the War of Independence, the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye was founded. Moreover, 19 May 1919 is the day that Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk, who identified himself with the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye, referred to as \u2018the day I was born.\u2019 Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk, with his comrades-in-arms, established our Republic through the faith and patriotism of our noble nation and entrusted it to our youth, emphasizing that it would live on forever. Atat\u00fcrk expressed his trust in the youth with his words, \u2018A clean generation is being raised from the heart of the nation. I will leave this legacy, the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye, to them and will have no regrets.\u2019 In the Turkish and T\u00fcrkiye century we are currently in, we prioritize the ideas of our youth and strive to guide them in choosing the right path in shaping their lives. In the second century of our Republic, we will continue to listen to our youth, who are the guarantee of our bright future, and work with them on joint projects. 19 May symbolizes youth, and youth represents the future. The Turkish youth is the unwavering guardian of Turkish independence and the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye, the assurance of today and tomorrow.
